The Write Stuff

Writing a book is hard. Getting it published is hard. Marketing it is hard.

But it isn’t something that must be tackled alone.

Friends of the Chandler Library will be presenting a workshop, on April 9 from 10am to 2:30pm, to “inspire your creative spirit and launch your writing career” as part of an effort to encourage new writers. Sessions include:

Getting started – the 10-minute write miracle
Memoir writing
Publishing
The writer’s journey – from idea to real book
(by Ann Videan!)
Marketing (by me!)

All proceeds benefit library programs and a box lunch is included in the registration fee.

Thanks, Tyler, for sharing the info. And, here’s a bit more…

Smell that change on the wind blowing through the publishing industry? We’re experiencing a huge shift toward self-publishing and away from the (in my opinion, very broken) traditional publishing process. With so many new online tools and print-on-demand services, getting published has become relatively simple, fast and inexpensive. So, if you’re an aspiring author, now’s an exciting time to pursue your dream.
