I want to ignore Seth Godin. I want to pretend I can’t learn from him, that he’s not some marketing genius and that I’ve passed him by.
But that’s just stupid.
The smartest, most successful people in the world are constantly surrounded by people many times smarter than them. Sure, they each have their specialties, but they’re good and you know it.
Back to Godin and a piece of advice gleaned from Linchpin Gift: Zen Unicorn, a bonus collection of articles for owners of Linchpin, his newest book.
In it, Godin asks if what you’re doing is tshirt worthy. Would anyone wear a tshirt of your product? Your brand? Would you?
If you wouldn’t dare to wear what you do on your tshirt, why are you doing it? Don’t think I’m talking about your full-time job here. Plenty of people work full-time jobs and have outside passions that define them.
I have no idea what it is I’m doing, but I’m all in. Success or failure, fully committed is the only way to go.
So, what are you doing that’s tshirt worthy?
