Read. I read everything from cereal boxes to blogs to receipts to lyrics. I read a lot.
One thing I don’t read all that much is kontaktmag. Why? Well, I write it. Not all of it–we have plenty of talented writers that only need my editing skills to be great–but I my words all over the mag.
I’ve been doing this for nearly four years now. Issue after issue has been painstakingly ground out from an ever-dwindling staff (hey, not everyone is up for the challenge) of people who believe in something.
Then the market changed. Our print costs, already most of our budget, were too high for us to responsibly budget month after month. In the interest of producing better content at less cost for more people, we went online completely.
Damn, it worked well. Check us out at kontaktmag or be a facebook fan. Follow us on twitter. Get in the conversation about what makes or breaks great design.
I look forward to hearing from you.
