I’d love to say that sponsored Tweets are the stupidest thing ever. Would love to sing high from the mountain (ahem, Paul Carr) about how evil ads in our Twitter stream are.
Screw that. It’s happening and there’s not a damn thing any of you can do about it.
It’s not perfect, it’s not always ideal but it’s what’s happening and we all should deal with it. We suffered through this with celebrity endorsements. We suffered through this with pop-up ads on our favorite sites. We (okay, you) suffered through this with Zynga and other’s Facebook games.
So now people want to make money from endorsing something? Let them do whatever they want. I don’t bitch when Robert Scoble reviews something. Carr wants to bitch? Great. Who fucking cares.
They make more money than you and I do. Our rules don’t apply to them, nor should they.
Don’t like it? Don’t follow. Done.
(disclosure: I signed up for such a service. I sent one tweet. Made $3.37. The sun came up the next day.)

I want to know how to make money from my tweets! Dude, $3.37 buys a gallon of milk, or a couple of loaves of bread. Add a few tweets together and you have dinner out on Friday night.
I’ll give you 5 bucks not to tweet.
