I personally despise video for presenting information. I can’t scroll through it easily, I can’t speed it up and I can’t read it quietly in a public place. But video is a powerful medium that can connect people to ideas quicker than many written words can and it’s also very helpful for instructional purposes.
Below is my first screen cast, which I shot with Quicktime and then edited and added voiceover in iMovie. The video quality isn’t as high as I would like, which is weird because I did export it on the high setting, which must mean that quicktime doesn’t do high-res screen recordings. Maybe that’s a setting I need to check into.
Either way, I’d love to know what you think.
