We all like to get noticed. We all want attention. That’s totally okay.
But it’s how we get it that’s important.
Social media has allowed us to reach many people at once with very little effort. When a big story breaks, it’s even easier to keep track of the convo with keywords on said trending topics.
And people take advantage of that. HabitatUK did last week and Russell Perry of Keane Creative did that just earlier.
Using trending topics to get attention is bullshit. It’s lying, it’s deceitful and it’s a shitty thing to do to a community based on trust.
Hell, you might as well just change your topic once you get on stage while you’re at it.
