Native New Yorker kicks out gays?

It’s okay to be gay in public. It’s okay to be gay in private. But it’s not okay to be gay at the Native New Yorker at 48th St and Ray in Phoenix, AZ.

From ASU student David Anderson:

Last night (August 12) at Native New Yorker, because some of the patrons were uncomfortable with gay people in the bar, the bartender looked for, and successfully found an excuse to kick us out.

Wait, what? That can’t be true, right? You can’t get kicked out of the NNY for being gay, can you?

But before he did, he made sure to confirm the reason was because other guests didn’t want us there and he reminded our group that NNY is a straight bar. If I mean anything to you, please don’t eat there ever again.

While I can’t confirm the NNY’s story, this is terrible. They should be ashamed of themselves.

This is total crap. I don't go to this NNY, but the one I do order from has just lost a customer. I am a native New Yorker and believe me we are far more accepting of diverse people than these knuckle dragging goons in AZ.

Just for everyone’s knowledge…there were a few people that were asked to leave that night because they were under the age of 21. Nobody was asked to leave because of their sexual orientation. The people that were not 21 left, and the rest of the group stayed, jammed some tunes, ate, and drank until last call! So all you judgemental people that believe everything you read better get your facts straight! (no pun intended)
