Things I learned while camping that make sense in real life
1. It’s relatively easy to figure where you are. Slightly tougher to figure out where you need to be. Very tough to figure out how to get there. When in doubt, go simple. Walk.
2. Don’t upset the herd for the sake of change. If you can change something for the better, great. Don’t do it until it makes sense. Some people aren’t ready to move on when things work just fine the way they are.
3. Stop drinking so much. Drunk people aren’t fun.
4. Don’t take everything at face value. Drainage pipes make excellent waterslides.
5. If you get it out, put it back. If you dirty it, clean it. If you break it, fix it. Stop hiding your mistakes and never blame them on anyone else.
6. Don’t shield yourself from your environment all the time. The sky looks wicked cool at night, trees smell fantastic and a little dirt never hurt anyone.
7. Don’t bring your laptop to a campground. In fact, if there isn’t any internet, don’t bring your laptop at all.
8. Get up early.
9. Be conscientious of those around you. No one likes the loud guy unless he’s doing something worthwhile.
10. Feel free to break rules, but not customs.
Get out more.
