Losing your job sucks. Your life is thrown into turmoil, your parents start asking worried questions and no matter how generous your friends are, you still feel like a mooch.

Time to do something about it. Time to find out how other people coped with being laid off and finding a new job or, for some, how to never have to worry about lay offs again. Time to go to LaidOffCampPhoenix.

You’ll learn communication skills, you’ll discover how important attitude is and you’ll hear from actual people who put their ideas to the test and, for the most part, survived.

Yours truly will be there, talking about how you can use online tools to build offline relationships, no matter what you do, who you are, or what you say. A free copy of Linchpin will be up for grabs, so be sure to show up ready to share, ask questions and teach others.

If you’re free the evening of April 2, be sure to check out Lemonade, a movie made by a laid-off guy about laid-off people. Seems the trailer gave Wayne Turner goosebumps. If you have a job, buy tickets and donate them. If you don’t, show up and we’ll cover you.

If you’re really adventurous, you should also look into When The World Breaks, a film about the Great Depression, produced by local, retired businessman Nick McKay, Sr. Tickets are $10.
