Kick some ass

We can be no one but ourselves.

People pretend to care when they don’t, do things out of obligation and lie to either protect feelings or get what they want. Life isn’t safe for work, nor is it family friendly. Stop pretending it is or should be.

You’re wasting your time. You’re wasting your life.

It’s disheartening to realize the amount of courage it takes to stand up for what we believe. We’ve been trained to go along with the crowd, to keep our voices down and that everything will eventually work out. To each his own, right? Bullshit.

You should matter. We ALL should matter. Instead of celebrating what makes us the same, try recognizing what makes us different. But before you do, realize this: there are consequences.

People will despise you.
Yep, just for being you. They will make fun of you behind your back, they will spread rumors and they will say things to other people they’d never say to you. Fuck them. They don’t count.

It will hurt.
You will probably embarrass yourself. You will be wrong (often, at first). Who cares? Learn from that. The only bad mistake is one you can’t learn from, and you’ll always heal. Always.

You won’t have a map.
If we knew what to do, everyone would be doing it. There’s no map to realizing your dreams or to becoming at peace with who you are.

You will be lonely for a while.
Yep, it will suck. You won’t know who to trust, who will have your back and who will pick you up when you need it. These will come.

You will lose something.
Whether it’s your false sense of security, a long-time friend who’s holding you back or even every shred of self-esteem, it will be taken from you. It will be rebuilt. Stronger.

I’m tired of people pretending something doesn’t matter when it does, tired of people unwilling to rock the boat when they know something is wrong and tired of people lying to themselves and everyone around them.

Aren’t you?

How about a random post?
