I’m running 13.1 miles tomorrow. For fun.
Sounds nuts, I know. To most, running is a form of punishment. Hell, when I played sports in my younger years, all I did was run.
In the past two years, I’ve given up a pack a day habit, stopped eating fast food more than once or twice a month, lost 45 lbs and undergone three surgeries.
All three surgeries put me on my back for two months.
And tomorrow, in some sort of weird celebration that I’m healed, I’m going to slowly torture my body for about two and a half hours.
Fun? You bet.
PS…I don’t care what they say, there IS shame in walking. Seriously. I don’t compete to say I did the very least I could in order to finish.
