Kung-Fu grip. Yo Joe. Knowing is half the battle. G.I. Joe The Movie.
If you don’t know what all the aforementioned phrases mean or why they’d be funny out of context, don’t go see G.I. Joe. It’s cheesy, it’s full of fighting and the dialogue could use some work.
But if you do get it and like the original G.I. Joe cartoons, movie and characters, feel free to buy a ticket.
The movie, seemingly influenced by Iron Man, Star Wars and every action buddy movie, ain’t that bad. Much better than rewatching old cartoons or full-length cartoon movies*.
Oh, the story line is pretty decent. Giving too many hints would spoil it, but there’s more than one twist and a helluva cliffhanger ending.
Thank you for not raping my childhood memories, companies that worked on this.
*DO NOT rewatch those old cartoons and movies. They are terrible. Much worse than you remember. I did it and I wish I hadn’t.
