Art is not a spectator sport. Neither is Gangplank. Desert Bloom Phoenix 2 (DBP2) proved both of those true last night.
125+ people ranging from kids no more than five up to a few baby boomers showed up last night to participate in a shared, live art exhibition that both highlighted the skill of real artists and the enthusiasm of attendees to create an event with a real outcome: art pieces a few lucky people could take home with them. But that’s not all Desert Bloom Phoenix 2 was. It was an event and a happening.
Lead by Nicholas DiBiase, The Brandons Franklin and Mason, Jason Garcia, Shauna Stacy and Greg Taylor, the second Desert Bloom Phoenix, titled Beats and Brushes, was far and away the biggest event held thus far at the new Gangplank location in downtown Chandler. Featuring food from local vendors 24 Carrots and Joe’s Real BBQ, events like this prove cool is where you make it.

@tdhurst It felt like a different event to me. Equally fun, but I liked that performers were center stage before vs. in the background.
@tdhurst it was my first time @gangplank really impressed with the facility. I got there at 9 and turnout was far more than I expected.
