Read that headline again. Once more.
Guy Kawasaki doesn’t care about you, Diddy doesn’t care about you and Britney Spears sure as hell doesn’t care about you.
Please STOP talking about them. We know social media is filled with people looking to gain followers. We know there are tons of real-life celebs who don’t engage with their followers. Life is a popularity contest and internet traffic is the new currency.
Just stop following them. Stop mentioning them. Spend your time engaging with people who do care. Spend time giving back to others.
Popular people aren’t always loved, they’re revered. People want to be them. You know what makes someone popular? NOT FOLLOWING AROUND OTHER POPULAR PEOPLE.
Either shut up or accept it.

Good post. You should include some linkage in your Tweets, I had to actually look at your profile and then click your website link to find it.
Sortof reminds me of this post that I read yesterday: http://socialmediarockstar.com/dear-web-celebrity-who-never-follows-anyone-back
It’s true… they don’t care… BUT… look at @The_Real_Shaq – he’s very interactive with his followers and even goes out in Phx and temps fans to touch him to win tix… and when out eating tells followers to come eat with him ( http://is.gd/kmKd )
So it’s not ALL bad, but you’re right… most are doing it for the wrong reasons
Chuck- Shaq is a great exception, but most ppl aren’t like him.
