Had a fantastic exchange with an elderly couple while riding my bike home from Boxer’s Men’s Salon this morning.
They were standing next to the ticket machine, reading a sign about the Metro cards and looked somewhat curious, so I stop and asked them if they needed help. They were good, so we talked about them going to a Light Rail preso at the Chase Building and then going to Priest and Washington to meet their granddaughter for lunch. I was about to say goodbye when I remember I was wearing my Rail Life shirt and asked them to say hi to Nick for me.
And then it happened.
Old guy: “Are you one of those Twitterers?”
Me: “Yep, that’s how I met Nick!”
They have no idea who Nick or Rail Life is, save for my shirt.
Old guy: “Oh, you seem so normal besides that.”
HILARIOUS.
So this old guy, who has admittedly never used Twitter nor knows anyone that I do, asked me about it completely out of the blue. We are becoming connected and I like it.
