Cheesy is memorable

We can’t be serious all the time.

I despise this commercial. It makes me wonder if Microsoft even watches their commercials before they release them.

Then it dawned on me: I will remember this video for years. It annoys me, it makes me grimace and it makes me laugh. Similar to being rickrolled, I can’t STOP watching this video every time I see it.

Cheesy doesn’t work for everything. It’s necessary to save it for the times when it really does fit. Could you imagine SongSmith as a dramatic commercial? An action filled one? Me neither. ProTools, however, surely wouldn’t jive with this.

Cheesy is memorable. Cheesy works (sometimes). Don’t be afraid to go with that jingle you can’t get out of your head, because no one else will be able to either.

  • Speechless I suppose. That commercial is so horrendously bad I'm a little disappointed that I watched all 4 mins of it. What does a company do w/ a 4 minute commercial anyway?
